Hey guys, Just wanted to know roughly how much it would cost to have a kart chassis paint stripped and powdercoated and who could do it for me.
Cheers

However, wasn't there some talk about the metallurgic changes made to chassis by powder coating?

Sounds good john. Not sure if mines painted or powdercoated, how do I check? If it is painted how much would it cost to get the paint off? Can you get paint off in an alternate way to sandblasting?

Hi Ryan
If you are in Brisbane I have a powder coating plant at Yatala. It would cost you around $90 for powder coating depending on the colour you want.
If it already has powder coat on it, there is usually no need to strip or sand blast it, a bit of sanding, a wipe down with prepsol, then powder coat over the top. You can do up to 2 coats over existing powder coating. Comes up as good as new.
If it has been painted you would need to strip it or sandblast which would cost around $60.

Good luck!
