Wow, $80 for 3 hours (maybe if the 4 stroke track isn't busy lol), at Oakleigh Vic, its $300 for a whole year, anytime you like for as long as you like...

if this was my business I wouldn't even turn the lights on for $480, I would just close the track to all practice and leave the hire karts to make the money. Think the man who owns the track is allowing practice out of the kindness of his heart,  Business is Business

Yes Rob, business is business when you have Sydney karters by the BALLS and there is nowhere else to practice. Kindness of his heart, I think not.

Sooooo, how do individual karters co-ordinate for a practice night? Can we use Kartbook or NSKC website for people to drum up support for a practice session? Since I twisted my ankle on the podium, I had to take a day job and can't practice much in office hours.

Looks like the back blocks or carparks will get turned into the practise tracks

Quick math, 80 * 52 = $4,160 in practice fees if you went once a week!

Even going every two weeks makes it ridiculous!

i rang up the other day about this and was told by one of the guys that work there that they" did'nt want to pay staff to hang around for some two strokers".

i can handle that, but they have organised a race for this saturday night for which alot of people wanted to parctice for. they then proceed to charge $80 to practice at night. even for NSKC members, sounds like they are trying to recoup some of the costs!

I have been telling everyone WE NEED ANOTHER TRACK no one licensed.

Not even the AKA.

Yet the race meeting this week is being run by Eastern Creek Kart Club.  Who benefits from the membership fees paid into that club?   A club that doesn't conduct race meetings nor processed  many licences, yet they are able to run an event which involves approximately 80 AKA licence holders.  Which Insurance policy is this weekends event being sanctioned under?  If it is the AKA, who is paying the affiliation fees to cover such an event?

So for 3 hours work it is going to cost in wages approximately $65.00 gross, plus power costs?

Some kart track owners seem to be getting very greedy?

Gotta agree with Phil..... Lucas Heights would be a great spot

Costs aside, before we could just turn up to the track and practice but now we will have to co-ordinate 5 other drivers for that same evening. Perhaps karters could register their interest at ECK website or book online somehow? It'd be a shame to lose night for practices not because of budget but because of co-ordination difficulties.

Forget Lucas Heights, it won't happen there.
