Vale Don Hopton
VALE DON HOPTON
It is with deep regret that we have to advise of the passing of Don Hopton this morning.
Don's name is synonymous with Karting in Bundaberg and his contribution to his Club and Karting in general is immeasurable. He will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. One can only endorse the comment of one karter today who said he was a true icon of the sport.
Don's funeral will take place at 10.00am this Friday (March 12) at Des Allen & Co Funerals, 22, Toonburra Street, Bundaberg.
Our sincere condolences go out to his wife Elaine and all the members of his family.

R.I.P don hopton. Don was my first engine builder when i started racing clubman about 10 years a go. he used to build a ripper engine back in the day and was also a keen angler. my condolences to his wife and family.

Don Hopton is and always will be a very well-respected person in the sport of Karting, in particular the Bundaberg Kart Club. Rest in Peace Don you will be sadly missed.

Very Sad news. He was a legend of our sport and will be dearly missed in our club.

Don will be sadly missed, he gave great support to the then fledgling Gladstone Kart Club while we starting up, his assistance was always greatly appreciated

Im wih Ken, when I started with the gladstone club we allways had don and his family at all the races, I ended up moving to the sunshine coast and worked for his sister here, he will surley be missed by all the guys
