Back to grass roots karting, what can be better. This could save the sport thats been ruined for everyone except those financially well off and wanting to pursue careers in motorsport.

Getting rid of the $5000+ 2nd hand J engine was one good thing that KA have done, even if they even stuffed up that process up. But it will be good that they can still be used somewhere other than dirt karting will be good.

am hearing circuits are being organized could be a great venue for the club level karter  who just wants to have fun for half the price?

Might be the start of 2 tiers of karting organisations. One for the elite and one for the rest. anyone that has the $$ to spend has one place to go and those that are just there for fun on a budget have another. Could be a great outcome as long as we have seen the last of the $$$$ Yamaha engines.

correct Paul  its for the Karter who want to enjoy what they have already  without  the stupid costs... .....  it definitely going ahead..

that will be sorted by this crew but if its only aimed at the club karter not the "plate" or "trophey" hunters why have a $4k J etc?

Agree potential for this is there, those who want to go v8s can go KA. also a good learning area for kids to get a tatse first before going all out etc. plus could expand to the older 125s etc?

If they can keep costs down this could be will be a winner.

if you are 15 and still racing karts in Aus sorry F1 is out of reach.

Half price tires/fuel/oil/engine builds/chains/sprockets/accomodation/etc.........

no steve.   but you make them last ...     instead of throwing your 1  meeting tyres in the bin....   that how you save money..

its not rocket science    here few other thing you don't need to go racing,,,

Don't need 10k trailers..  a   $500 box trailer does the same.

Don't need various Axles.....   you use the one you have

Don't need numerous set of tyres....  one set will do

Don't  need Wets..    learnt to setup you kart on slicks . like it used to be

Don't need $1000  fancy designed helmets..           there heaps of just  as safe cheapers one

Don't need fancy race suits...       Can  buy a kart suit for $100

there's a lot more you don't need.......       that how you make this sport cheaper...

You have to watch out here, seems common sense is coming forth !!!!!

yep there are some good hard tyres out there that will last and we know tyres are a big cost, no need to rebuild every second meeting really, take the pressure to win away and insert fun and it will become cheap. go on accommodation websites like wotif etc plenty of deals there and can camp as well thats usually free.

don't need new chassis every year plenty of good second hands ones always for sale.

sounding better everyday
