What is a good time for a Midget around Butterfly Farm? 2 Replies

Any ideas? A mate's son has been getting around there and they want to know what a good time is so they know when he's up to speed enough to progress...

Hello everyone,

What's a good time for a senior to run, on a J engine? I ran a 46.9 last time out, is that good/bad/average/race-pace? Be honest, and sorry my Google skills honestly can't seem to find this info...

Hey everyone, I am part of a team of 4 people with 4-stroke karts (don't hold that against us) who are looking for others to join us in a bit of social karting at Butterfly or Picton. We've got two Suby's and two Briggs World Formula karts. Shoot me a message to get in touch.

I'm sorry, but there are some fools that go there and try and race you. I had a guy come up to me and ask why he couldn't keep up since he had a clubman the same as me. When I looked at his tyres he had Bridgestones that were over 20 years old and had cracks in the sidewalls!

I like to take my son to practice there but some of the "adults" that go out need to wake up to themselves and realise it's not a race and if there are kids on the track to use some brainmatter and a little caution. The people who run the place can only do and see so much, just like an AKA race meeting, so you have to have a little self control.

Last time i went out, some complete TOOL had coolant with glycol in it and lost a hose, spilling it all over the track! Just a tip, glycol in any form of motorsport is illegal because it makes the track like ice.

Hey what's a rough gearing for open Rotax around this track?

The turn after the tower straight being turn one...
turn 10/11. You may be right about it being the speed taken into the turn though and the amount of grip making the kart bounce...

That is a shocking description lol and I have no idea where you are talking about. If you are talking about the right hander I think the track itself is actually ok there, it's just the way you go in hot and bounce through

After the s bends after the long straight there is a short straight. The turn after that short straight leading onto another turn which takes you to the last turn is bumpy. Sorry that that sounded like shit but its the only way I could word it. :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it $25 for a licence there and $40 for the day? The only bump I know of there is coming off the corner that leads onto the straight past the tower. There is a depression just as you enter the straight on the right hand side.
