Why this group exists

Guys the reason i started this group is for owners of fireball engines to get together and discuss the pros n cons of this engine

All engines have their own peculiarities and this is the place to discuss to help others and prevent them making mistakes already made

As this engine is normally packaged for beginers im all for helping the new guy out with any tips or advice that will stop them from say leaning out a engine first time out on the track

There is so much to learn in karting and the engine and tuning mainting it is only one of 100 things we need to learn

Any information provided here is to be given with the above in mind.

We are not expecting the super secret tuning tips to be provided, just the basics to let people not have to worry about the engine and let them focusing on learning driver technique

try and start a new post here more then on the wall so the information is easier to track

Fireballs did the business at  the Sapphire Cup last weekend. Ist in TAGR-L and 2nd in TAGR-H. Could have been first maybe....had the speed, but got nailed by 3rd. Bent tie rod,and stub axle tended to ruin the handling, other kart retired hurt, which saved him a trip to the stewards.

just bought another fireball.......back to 3 again.....both engines in use at 20hrs on crank, 10hrs on piston

Steve, The first 'easy start' ignition has a different keyway position to the 2nd evolution of it. So "back the timing off a bit" is even less scientific than if they were all the same! LOL.

What do you align for the trigger point and what mm/deg BTDC are you running?

Hi all......just a comment about ignition timing.....if your easy start is timed as per the US PRD site.......and you find as I did that corner exit is a bit sluggish, but on long straights, the engine has a surge of pwr just before your thinking of braking....back the timing off a bit. I'm referring to TAG-R...but the same may apply in open. We lost some top end rpm (maybe 300rpm), but bottom end has improved. Will also depend on your track of course.

The old bloke finished a good 4th at Picton last meeting and back to 3rd in championship.

Fireballs finished 2nd and 5th in TAGR-L at Picton last Sunday. My driver managed to get himself punted into a spin twice, and yet still managed 5th in a field of 20. About 2.5 hrs to run before we reach 10hrs on piston/20 on crank......then time for a rebuild.........there are 32 entries in tag-l for newcastle this weekend......time for the Galaxy to get some exercise.

Won the Sapphire Cup last weekend...........at the end of the heats on Saturday, that didn't look likely.........but pole position seemed to be somewhat slower on Sunday morning..........and the final was a blast.......I took the lead on lap 2, and we swapped places twice a few laps later...........I held the lead till the end with another driver showing speed, or a higher level of fitness towards the end, causing some cause for concern. Faultless run from the fireball. You guys should do this meeting some time....track is tight and very physical....and just a great weekend away.

15 clicks from closed.........we are running around 1hr10min on low  1hr35min on high..........but it depends on pop off pressure, timing etc......read your plug.....running pipe as supplied. Contact CRG for more up to date advice.
