1. make sure you installed it properly (get someone pro to check everything)
2. make sure you run it in properly
3. start off with the settings mentioned in the "Fireball Engine Specs" thread. good starting spot
4. Make sure you clean it properly after each day
after that, its just about learning the way the engine responses...
its just been run in, its not brand new its 2nd hand but fresh from a guy on here.
i think its a newer version looking at the pics, ill post some up i just not sure if its new or old style ignition
and as far as the clutch well thats god then. im looking forward to it, ill have to drill my engine mount to suit is there any special tips fitting to the engine mount?
Permalink Reply by Michael Hazelton on December 28, 2011 at 15:27 Engine mount is same as Rotax or IAME. Nothing special needed for Fireballs.
The ignition is the old style going off your photo's
The clutch is a solid style from photos
BTW there are no tuning jets in the carby. I assume this was for packaging reasons. Make sure you get the washer and o-ring around the right way and the Low and High jets in the right way!
Permalink Reply by Michael Hazelton on December 28, 2011 at 15:31 i am bit confused bout the engine mount, i have an old arrow one which had a clubman on it, can i use it and re drill it, i had a search for a engine mount on ebay but nothing says its rotax/leopard/firball specific. otherwise does anyone have one for sale. its a 28/30 arrow
hey paul, i just used a randomn engine mount which the holes ended up in a weird location where i had to counter bore in to the engine mount casting.. worked a treat and saved a bit of money. Mate you should love the fireball, i found it very easy to install the whole lot, and the thing has been trouble free for 4 race meets and a few practices! Just make sure you keep the clutch cleaned with brake cleaner as the chain flicks oil in there and it will start slipping.. Only a few essentials i've found from standard is a thermostat and temp alarm for piece of mind.. if you've had a good look on this site, these guys have put very helpful info everywhere! Some of the guys recommended a bigger fuse and get some spares as they had blown fuses whilst bringing the fuel up.. theres a few spade connectors on mine i had problems with coming off when it all got wet, so make sure they are crimped on pretty well too.. Thats all i can think of.. great little engine, and i'm very happy with how competetive it is with the rotax's etc in TAG-R..
