Thanks for the welcome.  Any ideas on how to test if the TCI module has stopped working?  Have charged battery, got spark, got compression and have cleaned and serviced carby.  Have also got fuel.  The engine just wont turn over.  Any suggestions on what to check?

Hi everyone,

Just purchased a second hand Omega Kart.  Will be running in Sportsman in Whyalla SA this year.  Have done a couple of practice sessions and have found it to be a great chassis very forgiving on a rookie tuning it.

Hey everyone,

I've seen these karts out at Todd Rd and pretty much liked what I saw.

Does anyone know what chassis are being run in the TAG restricted class around Victoria (engine combo suggestions are welcome)?

Is it possible to view kart specs and pricing online?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers

yeah i gave kym a call today and had a long chat its seems my set up is fine im just going about my tyer presures wrong so its something i will have a play with and my seat stays are in tight and my side podes are tight at the back and loose in the front this is my 4th omega kart and i have set them all up like that i just have never raced on mg reds before so just have to lern how they work there just not like the bridgestones i raced on.

this kart was very fast  when i raced in 04 and i was always on the podeum in it and thank you all for your help its good to know there are other omega drivers out there that want to help others to get good resaults.

and my experience with omegas dont listen to people who drive other karts for set up it never works been there done that back when i raced my omega magic in junors

April 25, gave you my setup for a very similar class, made it clear to run seat stays then... Cashy is repeating what I said already.  Cashy has driven Omegas for many years and knows how good they are, even though he now drives a DR...

James Head, you drive an Omega then I assume?  if not, don't pretend an Omega is the same to set up as another brand please. All you will do is confuse someone asking a legitimate question.  I know you're trying to help...

You drive a One Kart/BRM from your status.  This is an Omega forum, for Omega drivers to ask Omega drivers how to set up Omega Karts, which despite what many might try to convince you, are most certainly not the same as anything else.

I have 3.  I have won Many, Many races in them, and have even beat the mighty Cashy on occasion :)

I've been racing for a year, but have learnt fast due to listening to Kym Pearce, a great mate of mine, and Owner of Omega Karts who has helped me have what I consider to be an exceptional run for my first year racing, and beyond what I believed in myself I could do.  I have Kym to thank for that.

Thanks and I'd suggest once again to read my post below and get Kyms number and give him a call, I assure you he'd be delighted to help you improve your lap times :)

as i said seat stays tight.. only saying as i have 11 years experience in the omega kart!!

also front side pod bolts LOOSE but the rear TIGHT

James Head Comment by James Head on April 27, 2011 at 7:51pm

I'm assuming the obvious and your sidepods are loose?

Seat stays will also prevent the kart from jacking, You don't have to take them right out, just make sure they are tight on the bearing carrier, and loose on the seat end.  Just nip them up to the point where you can still move the stay around a bit.
