There is a Karting Magazine article from 1977 about the 1976 Sirio http://www.vintagekart.4t.com/documents/Mickey%20Allen.pdf

This is from my UK corespondent sometime ago!!

"The Sirio 51 TT was a TT, homologated in 78. The Sirio 50 was the later motor with the nuts for the barrel / crankcase recessed from the top. This was homolgated in 1986. In the uk versions were sold with the three TT ports larger TT and a National version with the normal TT. I dont think this was internationally homologated. The TT45 is the reed from 83."

Hope that clears it up

Yes anthony you are right - the siro 50 was 1986.  I typed 1983 twice.

ooops - stop press.

The matcher made a boo boo.
The 78 homol does have the barrel held on with short studs, nuts inserted towards the bottom.

Looks like this version is Era 4 ... - still waiting to hear what year it was homologated.

TT45 Reed only?

Comment by Heath Butt on September 12, 2017 at 15:27

9 ports apparently

Thanks H and M,

Is there a way to distinguish the TT45 (Zenith).

Were the earlier version 50 mm bore or 48?

The one I have is a 50.
