It is still the cheapEST 4 wheel motor sport!
Save yourself some pain and avoid the non-TaG classes.
They often stall on spinning out, which you Will do, and then they are on the sidelines waiting for everyone to finish, go get the trolley and do the walk of shame.
It does happen in tag, just a Lot less.
Eg, I bent up my steering once,
Lost a nose cone twice (got to drive these back.)!
Got stuck on a bark chip pile twice...
Broke studs on a rear wheel once (in a race!)
All side line events.
TaG R is the emerging, fastest growing class.
Very popular around the city's.

You will need other things:
A way to move it!
Best to have a kart trailer that your entire kit is in, well set out to make it workable.
If you use any of this kit outside of karting you Will forget something some time...
A place to store the trailer that is safe so you don't lose the toy..
Wheel & tow ball locks etc. Some have GPS tracking devices....
Safety gear; helmet, gloves, suit, boots.
I would recommend, and use, rib protector and neck brace.
Tools, well set out in a tool chest or eq.
A Gazebo, do not underestimate the need for both sun and rain protection.
I put a groundsheet of shade cloth down to catch the tools and little bits you drop!

The kart will need:
A data logger, micron, Starlane, et al.
A set of wet weather tyres on alloy rims ( the rear is a different width anyway).
A second set of Mag rims.
Spares, spares and when you think 'Surely I have enough spares' some more bloody spares.
I have attempted to get every nut, bolt and washer as spares by a multiple of 5..
And I still get caught out!
An example. Yesterday practicing, 40 or so laps down, look over everything, one of 4 brake pad return bolt and spring sets is AWAL.
No spare, so I order 5 sets so I have a compleat set spare.
Don't want to scare you off, so I'll shut up for a while...

Hi Brad, it's a pity I'm up here in Coffs, but there you go.
You know karting is in decline at the moment and we who love it want to help anyone with the desire to join in.
Please don't make a mistake with your first purchases.
I've seen it happen, not a happy place.
At lest you are asking the right questions..
