Brent,

One final thing. It is very important for you to know what your kart/engine will do a lap timewise at a certain weight. If you don't how will you know the future improvement in the driver?

Brent,

I don't think we will bother racing again as it's just too long a day but as I also own a 6 speed, watercooled gearbox kart I will probably set it up for Superkarts where they practice/race on a full size track such as Lakeside. They also run a Rotax class so I'll have to find out whether we can run the Leopard against them. My price of $5000 comprised the kart($ 1700), the Leopard X30 engine ($2500), trolley ($150), Alfano ($200), transponder ($300), Sticker kit ($100) so it was basically what I paid.Anyway I'll probably keep it as I won't lose any sleep over $5000.

Brett,

My son raced at Ipswich yesterday in Restricted Heavy. Taken out in 1st race when leading, 19th to 8th in second race. Both of us decided the interest in racing just wasn't there any more so we came home. Consequently our kart etc is for sale. The rolling chassis is an Arrow X1e new in Oct. 2012. The engine is a 2013 Leopard X30 with little use. The kart is complete & ready to put on the track. Comes with Alfano Pro, Transponder (if you race), kart & tyre covers, new sticker kit (still in plastic), trolley. Asking $5000 (pretty firm on price). Call me if interested on 55493005 before 6pm anyday as I am retired. Inspect at 31 Oppermann Drive Ormeau.

An extended front for a CRG chassis can be purchased from the Central Coast CRG dealer for $369.

Saw all the pics of the CRG. Looks good but it is after all a 2012 roller, so it still would look good. The Rotax engine, even a 2010 model, would be OK after he said what has been done to it. I still think the current price for this package would be $4500 & don't forget your height.

The best value is a 'package'deal from someone leaving karting. It is a case of the whole being a lot less cheaper than the parts. You usually get everything you will need except 2 important things: How will you store & work on the kart &, secondly, how you will get it to the track? Don't forget the extended front. I suppose the imported karts also provide these.
