Chris Barry replied to David Gibcus's discussion Wanted: Cadet Tyres
"Greg. Worth pointing that rule out. I made the tool to use on my circuit racing sportscars. Can be handy after a stack of laps behind the pace car only to finish on a red flag with tyres like lamingtons."

Chris Barry replied to David Gibcus's discussion Wanted: Cadet Tyres
"FYI, I made up a scraper that is held onto my hot air gun with a hose clamp. I used 1mm stainless as its what I had on hand."

Chris Barry replied to James McGrath's discussion Rounded rear wheel nut
"If its an internal hex I would see if you can grab the outside with some vice grips. If you have a welder, you can weld a nut or some scrap to the tube nut."

"If you undo the 3 bolts on the support bracket, and 4 bolts around the bendix housing the starter pulls back off the motor. You can then remove the bendix and clean it thoroughly. Its not that tricky to remove, just make sure to keep track of the…"

Chris Barry replied to R-Force Racing Darren's discussion Vortex Mini Rok starter motor problem
"Remove the starter and make sure the bendix unit isn't gummed up with chain lube. Pull the flywheel off and use a small file to deburr the back of the teeth. If the driver holds their finger on the starter too long the backs of the teeth get a…"

Chris Barry replied to Damien Selakovic's discussion Front Tyre Mounting
"I find swearing at them seems to help ( or at least make me feel better). I have a metal tyre fitting band, and tighten it up pretty hard which helps alter the tyre shape enough to get it sealed up to hold air."

Chris Barry replied to R-Force Racing Darren's discussion Rim Sizes for Cadet Karts
"The rim differences will be more to do with what came with your kart rather than whether they are cadet 9 or 12. Karts from the Dunlop DL1 days sometimes came with a +1' wider rear rim. May owners fitted narrow rears as they felt it allowed…"

"Top hat bushes could be an option too. These are like a small outside diameter washer stuck to the back of a large od washer. Same sized hole in the middle."
