Hey Col,

I am not sure of your level of involvement with Phoenix karts but from what i can gather you either design/make/own Phoenix karts. Any of which is something to be proud of. I am the fortunate owner of an Elvis endurance kart and feel this is by far the best chassis available to anyone looking to get involved in endurance kart racing.(Dude there is a massive worldwide market for this chassis). My problem is anyone in Australia involved with this type of racing already knows the potential of this kart, and if i want to beat them i need to experiment outside of the box. So my Question is would you be in the position to build me a 30/32 Elvis chassis?

I am not sure of the complications of this request. But if it is as simple as putting 30mm tube in the jig, I would be very interested.

Cheers Felix

Hi Col,

Wondering where and for how much I can get the Asmo?

Also the seat jig thingy is that a home made jobbie?

Also my sons seat has 20kg of lead on and we are finding it hard to jack the kart.

Any suggestions web site/videos

He is Rookies and 13 years old.

Cheers,

Paul

hi col my group is the southern star is there anyway to delete comments that might confuse potential members we had an issure when I couldnt do the series again and the people I left in charge thru in the towel, I have given my 100% support to the new promoters and offered our data base for the benifit of karting but feel  that last years comments might date the group and people wont look anymore

Hey there Col,

I'm on a roll.............. and not a willing participant. I recieved this mail this morning.

You have a new comment to approve on Kartbook.  zenabbenson wrote on your profile:

Greeetings to you dearestMy name is Zenab i am new here in this dating socialnetworking,i am writing to you because i will like tohave a relationship with you. Please accept me as your love one so tha...>>

and that's where it ended.

Where are these tossers coming from and is anyone else that you know of getting this garbage? You certainly don't want this excellent site and legitimate participants put off by all this.

I'm assuming you are monitoring these emails and not posting publicly, as there appears to be no address to write to with these issues. Would be a little ambarrasing for me and not good fot the image of the site.

On a lighter note, I'm guessing you're the guy that has put out that excellent series of informative videos. I am in the process of entering my 8 yr old son into the sport and have found your vids a huge help, thanks for that.

All the best mate and thanks for your time.

Take Care

Jim

Just tidying up my PC Col and realised I hadn't registered.
I doubt I will have much to say as y interests are elsewhere these days, but I will log in occasionally and see what the 'whinge of the week' is all about.

If I can be of any assistance, give me a yell.

Cheers

Pat

PS, I understand a 16y/o ex karter was killed in a FV at Eastern Creek yesterday?

Top Ten Karters of 2010!

Writing the Top Ten every year is a bit of a stressful task, to be honest. I don’t use a points system, I judge it by what I see from the side of the track. However, I took a 6 month holiday this year so I’ve had to lean on the results sheets a little more than usual! Still, I attended three State Titles, the Nationals, three rounds of CIK, the Leopard Final and a bunch of other stuff as well, so I think my opinion still counts for…

Kart WHAT Magazine!??

Most people would know that I have, for a very long time, held the people that run Kart Magazine in fairly low esteem. You'd only have to recall my very long rant from last year to know that for sure.

In fact, most people are well aware that Kart Magazine is a low quality publication with spelling mistakes, printing errors, factual inaccuracies, stolen images, blatant bias and even outright lies… Continue

Top Ten Karters of 2009

Coming up with this year's top ten has been a difficult decision making process, partly due to the total and utter dominance of the year's racing by two men - David Sera and Matthew Wall. Their names take up so many spots on the honour roll this year that its hard to find other worthy names! Their domination of the senior categories this year has meant that my top ten for 2009 has a significantly "younger" flavour than the… Continue

Trailer Disasters!

In my experience, karting is often a much richer experience than simply “whatever happens at the track”. Indeed, most of the great stories told over the celebratory beers after a successful meeting do not actually involve driving go karts at all. The best stories involve the great lengths to which we will go to win what are, in reality, barely more than colourful ice-cream-lids.

There’s a guy I know who has quite a few disastrous stories involving trailers. For the sake of protecting… Continue

Be Creative

I’m quite a fan of a website called www.ted.com.

It’s a huge library of inspirational talks by a wide variety of people, and it’s a great place to go if you want to get your brain energised and mind motivated. Tonight, I was watching it to stave off a fairly harsh case of “totally bored” I had going on, and I stumbled across a gem.…
