hey Jason,

how ironic you sent me email last night

was just at ARC workshop in Yenora Sydney yesterday and met Klark Quinn, he shared with me his ideas for ARC, the setup at Paul Morris' track, sounds like similar to a gokart shop at the track and also the state series ideas, like it all.

I was speaking to Brad Ward about a week ago about the possibility of setting up a team of cars for ARC for next yr with the involvement of the Australian Cricket Captain Michael Clarke, and he mentioned your new role with ARC and that ARC was being sold.      Brad led me to believe that maybe your new involement with ARC and having a high profile sportsperson like Michael part of a race team would be good for sponsorship for both ARC and Michael Clark Motorsport.  Michael has asked me previously if I could  take him karting and coach him etc and I mentioned to him at a family birthday recently a desire to setup a ARC team of Junior Karters like I did in the mid 90's.

After I won my 3 National Kart Titles in early 90's I first coached Dean Canto and we won National Title in 1995 with him.

1996 I setup Vision Racing coaching 5 kids 12-14yrs - we won another National and 2 State Titles.

Michael is keen to get involved but obviously Captaining Australia in cricket is his No1 for now but would love to get involved with racing once cricket career is over.

I suggested to Michael we could setup an ARC team of say 3 cars, with similar format to my Vision Racing Gokart days, Michael can come to any events his available for and do whatever testing he can on private test days, I mentioned to Michael I need time to learn these cars, develop and build a successful team so when he is ready to have a play/race VIsion Racing ARC/ Michael Clarke Motorsport is competitive.

Obviously having a high profile sports person like Michael has to be good for media/sponsorship and having my sister Kyly Boldy as Michael's partner and Australi'a No1 Wag at the moment maybe you could see ways in which to explore these facts.

I mentioned to Michael I would love to replicate what Roland Dane has with Vodafone V8 team. That's a powerful team and I want to be Roland Dane in ARC - and Michael already has sponsorship with Vodafone.

Jason, I have never gone down the sponsorship path and I'm sure motorsport sponsorship is a different sell, and with your skill in this area, can you help me get this idea off the ground for all involved

cheers Troy Boldy

p.s. Michael is still overseas but i'm catching up with him early next week to discuss this team further so if you have something to share, or for me to show him that would be great, cheers
