Mal Crosher said… yep, those type, perhaps not the same serial number and model are pretty universal and were used as a stock replacement for the rotax superkart engines ie 256 in line twin , 257 single 250 rotary valve. Seen them old older rotax rotaries, Aprillia motorbikes, older Formula C engines ie rotax 128 , tmkv95's rotaries etc . Like PVL being the control one for KZ now .
With it's universal purpose with motorcycles , karts , rotax light air craft etc it can also be used and routed through your kill switch for the earth that's required with that .
on a dirt bike with no lighting coils , starters etc that earth tab would tap into a wire from the cdi that would direct to the push button stop that was earthed under the switch on the handle bar . saves running 2 earths .
Generally bike coils that have no earth out will be ground directly to the frame from the bolt mount hole used to mount it to the chassis .
If your running a kill switch on the wheel or nassau, you should be able to join them together than have one ground off the engine etc.
