Simon Furzer said… Neville, have been with Tiger Kart Club in WA nearly 20 years. Raced CSH for a few years (93-97), then left it cos of kids but got back in 2002 with my son for a couple of years, then started racing again myself in 2004 and still doing it, but mainly on larger meeting because of low class numbers in CSH. ( 3rd in WA states in 96, 2nd in 2004, still waiting for a blue plate, but age may be against me now.)
Not on the committee here because I hate committees and am really bad at the politics not apathetic, just not good at it - its suits some people but not me I am afraid. However I will help the club if needed and I put together and produced the programmes for the States and Nationals.
Most of the political gossip about the AKA I get from Kartbook and quite frankly it always shocks me. But in saying that I think we have a good bunch over here in WA and I am guessing that, because generally things are OK with Karting in the West, our delegates keep under the radar with the machinations behind the scenes over in the East, and by the sound of it that may be a pretty sensible strategy.
Most of my 'conversations' on kartbook tends to have a humorous angle, often deliberately to diffuse people who are going over the top. But as my business is media based I know a bit about that business and the help we got in WA from the AKA for the nationals was pretty sad.
This is about as serious as I get but happy to talk with you anytime.
Good luck
FURZ
