"Jason you have made a fatal error is saying 'leave cadets out for the moment.'
At the present moment there is a distinct lack of cadets/midgets/rookies. The main reason as I pointed out is the cost to be involved..
For instance to…"
"That is interesting feedback Ian. In May 2016 the Darwin Kart club had 47 entries, in October 2016 they 42 entries, April 2017 53 entries and in May 2017 they had 40.
Just a cross section of numbers.
The crucial part of the comment…"
"Alright then I won't bash KA as you request, but what else, other than getting rid of them, will help????????
They have decimated numbers and you don't want this to become a KA bash fest????
At least you acknowledge numbers have depleted,…"
"Three new Directors were installed on the Board of Karting Australia at the organisation's recent. Annual General Meeting.
John Reynolds, Troy Bundy and Glen Egan join Mick Doohan, Phil Smith and Rob Crawford. The KA Board is thus…"
" Interesting read:
Good governance of the various sporting bodies ultimately comes down to having boards comprising those who intimately know and love the sport they’re lending their services to sitting side-by-side with those with the…"
"Simple questions here Paul. When the smaller clubs close down and there is no club racing or racers left, who will take over the running of that track? Perhaps the club will sell it, or not renegotiate a lease or agreement with the…"
"Slightly unrelated to the annual report, but on the topic of club racing dying a slow and painful death.
Country series (in Vic) is strong as they offer incentives (prizes) to go, plus it's a good fun environment for your kids to learn new…"
"Well said Gavin,
Strong (VIC) state and country series is at least a relief. But it is also because people are racing these events INSTEAD of club days due to the cost per event (kart/tyre maintenance not entry fee). Why turn up at a club day at all…"
That is exactly why the Board of KA needs to be replaced. This type of thing is not good business practice. It also buggers me that a Board with so many 'suitably qualified' people on Committees must appoint an outsider (who doesn't do it for nothing) to take charge of an aspect of karting. Don't they have any business accumen?
I'm considering racing at Picton this w/e..
At Canberra at the mo, so getting there shouldn't be a problem..
Can I camp at the track? With my 80yr old mom and 14yr old lap dog in our campervan...
Is power a possibility?
If so can I arrive tomorrow.. Practice on Saturday...?
How many TaG R H would you expect racing?
Thanking you, Carl.
Would you expect Homebush Karting being there?
Hi Neville, thanks for the invite. I love karting but see a dismal future for us that love Clubman. I was President of Toowoomba for 2 years, and have been involved for 10 years. IF you want to discuss anything my phone number is 0419733528
My comments have to be somewhat guarded for defamation reasons. The AKAQ has been ripped off by probably more than the $54,000 but this is a good starting point. The person involved was formerly on the AKAQ Executive. This person (not Ralph) has also been involved with stealing nearly $250,000 from a separate individual who I happen to know. I understand he will be charged by the Fraud Squad in the next few weeks on the individuals matter. By the way "Up the Rabbitohs". I have been a Souths supporter since the mid-60's. Maybe this year?
