Nikola schmidt replied to Kane Richards's discussion OTK Brake Bleeding Issues
"My Dad and i had the same issue as you with an OTK Kosmic Kart, the brakes were soft, one side pushed more in than the other and they weren't retracting as they should, we took the brakes apart, cleaned it out, new fluid and nothing had…"

"Thanks, i'm moving to Tag Heavy next year, getting tired of restricted, as i've mentioned before i'm altering some kart adjustments to see if that helps me out of the corners, if i'm honest im way over weight for the class but…"

Gregory Collett replied to Nikola schmidt's discussion X30 vs Rotax...
"Hi Nikola. If you are thinking about racing at the Pro Tour events in open you could change over, but if you just like club racing for the fun of it then the X30 is probably easier to live with, as there is less race day maintenance (power valve),…"

"This may well answer the question of which engine is better at your track. Others may have already experienced this and opted for the quicker engine..... Or maybe just a sheep mentality. Good luck."

"its hard with my track per say as the majority are rotax, but my plan is to play around with the kart set up, lowering the rear ride height and changing up the caster on the front "

Nikola schmidt replied to Nikola schmidt's discussion X30 vs Rotax...
"yeah that's my plan, gonna lose some grip in the rear because that seems to be the issue if i'm slower than others out of the corners."

David Arnold replied to Nikola schmidt's discussion X30 vs Rotax...
"In the past rotax had good mid range power due to the power valve but a much smaller rpm window to operate in, therefore, slow corners suffered and tracks that had slow corners and high speed straights rotax's struggled against…"

David Kerwood replied to Nikola schmidt's discussion X30 vs Rotax...
"Sweet fa between x30 and rotax. They make power in different areas but overall there is nothing between them. Get yourself sorted kart wise first. Hours I ran mine up to 20hrs and it was strong."

"This is another reason some drivers can't get max. rev's on the straights, they cannot handle the corners thus rev's in straight suffer. Driver ability overcomes most set up problems. "

Patrick Carter replied to Nikola schmidt's discussion X30 vs Rotax...
"With all due respect Steve, I had to do mostly the opposite of what you have suggested in order to get my kart off the corners nicely.  One type of setup doesn't work for everyone and it's just more complicated by huge number of…"
