Hi Randy,

Got home yesterday and had a look at the karting Australia latest book to check on the Cadet 12 Age ruling that we were talking about yesterday.

This is what the manual states

Chapter 3

Cadet 12

1 Class

a) Cadet 12

2 Age

a) 9 – 12 Years (Year of 9th birthday to end of Year of 12th birthday)

3 Competition

Harrison had a great time yesterday which was good.

Cheers

Jason

Hi Randy,

Went to Warwick track with my son on Sunday for his first run in the rk cadet 12 kart we got with kt100j

Just wondering what gearing you would suggest.

It has 12/68 which I think is way to tall

Website suggests 12/72-73 for rookies

There was another cadet 12 with minirok which he runs 11/80

When comparing ratios between the two they are not close.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Jason Young

Hi Randy, can you please email me some pictures of the rear of the kart, in particular the area where the engine mounts. I need to see how much clearnace we have beside the seat, and how much clearance there is over the rear bar.

There are several ways of doing this, but some ways are easier than others. The AX cadet chassis we have going uses a Max torque 10 tooth clutch which means it can have a very small 35 tooth rear sprocket. How ever there are others ways such as mounting on a 15% engine mount and an additional offset plate. If you can get them picture to me Im sure we can figure some thing out.

Kind Regards

Damian
