"You read EGT at the end of the straight. 630C is what your looking for, or a little cooler on shorter tighter tracks, due to the thermal inertia of the engine. 630C indicated is actually 615C due to the non-linear out-put of the k-type…"

"EGT for tuning. An EGO is good too, but the egt sensors give me less trouble. I use ego on a fireball, and you do see things that egt can't show you."

"Head temp will tell you that your engine is about to blow up (air cooled at least). Egt will allow you to use your mychron to tune the mixture....those that have mixture screws........except.........if you are tag restricted, egt will not work."
