Good morning Tom. Just noticed the invite so here I am with bells on. Is there a road racing Vintage club or faction there-of ?. There must be a lot of vintage shifter Karts around.

Hi Tom,

Yes I am very interested, making the mod's don't realy concern me for running twin motors as I have quite an extensive workshop and access to other machines but what is the worry is that from what I read from Greg Brewer's post that I would have to convert it back to Sprint specs, the Road racing configured kart in the pic is the one I wish to run with but if there is no vintage class for it whats the use, anyway I will have to look deeper into it but can you send me a pic of it and how much you are looking for it. Mark Mckeddi has some clutches and the motors still around so I hope its still a viable project.

Regards,

Mick

Hi Tom,
Have you started the frame for the MI kart? the side rails are quite time consuming. The Go Kart 400 plans you bought, were they from eBay for $10? as I got the same thing, I was able to complete my set, thanks to the help of a fiew people. As for the Ison plans and the Aus kart plans. If you have them on your computer I wouldn't mind taking a look.
The wheels I have already bought for my MI kart, I used steel wheels 4" front and 5" back with 450/310 slick tires. I am going with the dead axle and what I think is a 2.5hp Tecumseh (take a look at my photos!) I have been collecting period parts for the MI kart, even an old 1950s togle swith from a switch board for the kill switch. I will make a seat for mine, just a basic one like the go kart 400. Do you intend to race yours? I imagine you could, since it is a legitimate vintage.
