richard gagie replied to Kai Mei's discussion what chassis size for my weight.
"Totally agree with the above re 30/32. As a Rotax/Leopard kart weighs about 84kg you should be very close to Restricted Heavy(180kg). "

richard gagie replied to Henry Barnes's discussion Fitting Dunlop SL1 tyres to 150mm wide rims
"I know this is silly but you are putting rears on rear hubs not fronts on rear hubs? Use a hair dryer to heat the inside of the tyre & they will go over the bead a lot easier. "

richard gagie replied to Chris best's discussion Wtb clubman
"Try the MARKETPLACE section for these type of ads. Also, include your location & how much you want to pay. "
Thursday
richard gagie replied to Pete Mitchell's discussion SE Qld Tag Weight
"In Restricted the "parity" is achieved by different size holes in the restrictor whereas in TaG the "parity" is achieved by different weights. The hole sizes with the Rotax & X30 are different so why do they run at equal…"

richard gagie replied to Pete Mitchell's discussion SE Qld Tag Weight
"Three guys that race at Ipswich in TAG Heavy want the weight brought from 185kg. to 180kg.- I'm with you guys, but what about the Lights? "

richard gagie replied to Richard Kelly's discussion Chassis size (28/30, 30/30, etc) for each class
". I would suggest 28/28 or 28/30 for 140 kg, 30/32 for 160kg., 30/32 or 32/32 for 180kg+ Is there a prize? "

richard gagie replied to Kris Winnett's discussion Advice on JNL weights
"Kris, If at the end of the year your son hasn't got a lot taller & he is comfortable in his current kart there is no necessity to change chassis. There are numerous ways to add weight eg. petrol weighs 750g per litre but the easiest for 20kg…"

richard gagie replied to Kris Winnett's discussion Advice on JNL weights
"Check out Rule 13.19.2(d) "a rookie may make application to their State Karting Council for dispensation to remain in the class for a further 12 months". Doubt if this will be granted in your case as it is not unusual for a kart to have…"

richard gagie replied to MARK KEILAR's discussion Why do people let the air out of their tyres between meetings?
"Letting the air out reduces the pressure on the tyre carcass thus preserving the tyre shape. That's the theory anyway! Wrapping in glad wrap preserves the tyre rubber by keeping air out. That's the theory anyway! Draw your own conclusions."

richard gagie replied to Pete Mitchell's discussion SE Qld Tag Weight
"And what about the karter(Rotax) who weighs in at 167kg? Does he purchase your lead & go up to 180kg and race heavy? The weights don't suit everyone so whatever is done disadvantages somebody.Don't think you would get anywhere near 100…"

richard gagie replied to John Oakes's discussion Warwick Kart Club
"Michael, Can only comment about  the Restricted Light & Heavy which should be 12x82/83 (Light) & 12x84/85 (Heavy). As Nick says Clubbie Light & Heavy/Over 40's seem O.K.. Suggest you get the other classes from frontrunners next…"

richard gagie replied to John Oakes's discussion Warwick Kart Club
"Use 12/84 or 85 gearing depending on experience, jetting at 158/160 but check your plug, power valve same as Ipswich. Time for restricted heavy on a good day can vary from low 47's to mid 48's The suggested gearing on the website is WRONG…"

richard gagie replied to Matthew Spence's discussion what changes do i need to make to my rotax max, when i put a restrictor in it.
"Running too rich. When you put the restrictor in drop your jetting viz. 162 unrestricted is 160 restricted, increase rear sprocket by 2-3 teeth when restricted.Power valve out 12 turns on a new restricted Rotax BUT this depends on the length of the…"
